Can't edit shoutbox CSS

This user has been denied support.

I can't edit the CSS from the Inferno shoutbox, I have tried changing the text color but it stays black (the background is black as well), How can I edit the default text color as well as the background color of the text box?
I have tried editing it through the color on basic edit through themes, as as well as adding a .inferno_content section to inferno.css
