I have not tried this out for myself, but you will need to build a class first in the template - forumbit_depth1_cat

something like class="forum-{$forum['fid']}"

then in global.css you will need to specify for every id:

.forum-1 { }

.forum-2 { }

.forum-3 { }

etc
