MyBB 1.2.12 and Authorisation code mismatch (Resolved!)
#1
Hello

I have done a search. I followed the instructions in all the posts and nothing worked. Infact it took me 2 and a half hours to put the forum right again as something went wrong.

My forum is a clean install of v 1.2.12 and I keep getting Authorisation code mismatch error each time I try and post. I have read many posts about this and so far nothing is working. I am using an edited DirectNet Theme.

Could someone please advise me on how to resolve this error. I have tried to update the forum with the update in install which I had to re upload and I also closed my board and deactivated plugins. That did not work infact it caused more trouble.

Thanks all in advance.

You definitely edited the skin wrong. This error usually occurs when you mess up the skin, happened to me quite a bit of times, trying installing a fresh copy of the skin and see if it works.

The origional skin has the same trouble.

I know html and css and my changes where cosmetic.
As stated above it does not work with the unchanged theme.

Then it's a problem with the Theme. Ask the theme author to update it to work with 1.2.12.

It should work as it was only recently developed with in the past month or so.

This is from the theme developer.

Quote:I suggest you let the developers know about this. 1.2.12 needed no template changes, as far as I read in the announcement. So perhaps this is a bug ?

So the person who makes the themes says its your problem and you are saying it is the person who made the themes which is at fault.

Hmmmm!

Thanks

The person who said that is wrong. The announcement does need template changes. It was just done automatically because the changes that were needed were security related so therefore they were mandatory.

If the template changes aren't too drastic, you could try the following (if you don't want to wait for the theme developer to upgrade his/her theme).
  1. Determine which parts are causing the Authorization error, and revert the respective templates. For example, if posting via the quick reply is throwing the error, revert the showthread_quickreply. Do note that it may cause your theme to look odd however:
  2. If you have some HTML knowledge, you can modify the problematic templates - just place the following inside the <form> tags:
    <input type="hidden" name="my_post_key" value="{$mybb->post_code}" />

So the question is now which part of the template is it comflicting with and how do I bring the template upto the 1.2.12 compatability?

The reason why I would like to use this template is because it is a support forum and it exactly matches my main website.

Any help would be greatful

Thanks

Edit: A intersting post from ZiNgA BuRgA again. Thanks that looks like a possibility.

There are a lot of templates that needed changing. Simply run the upgrade script (install/upgrade.php) and select "1.2.10 or 1.2.11" from the list and it should automatically fix your templates
