If so, you must set your user group in plugin's configuration.

How would I do this?

Edit the "Who can administer invitations" option.

Any more recent news on this plugin, or a different solution that achieves the same?

Has anyone else tried it? What are your experiences?

I too need invitation only functionality for my forum.

Thanks,

Matt

I still have work to do on this plugin.
Security enhancements (anyone who can use the invitation manager can invite new admins, it's bad), add some requested features, etc..

I'll work on it soon as I can. by then, you'll have to wait a bit if you want to allow non-admins members to invite other members.
You can use it and test it now only if you restrict Invitation Manager rights.

Hi,

thank you so much for making this plugin, will be fantastic to see it finished!

In the meantime: For now, I can live with me, the only admin, being the only person allowed to invite other people.

Would you be able to post a brief step by step guide here how to use the plugin in its current form, safely, to do that, and to prevent it from being insecure in any way?

By the way, unless that is planned already, I would have one suggestion: A list-style way that allows to invite a large amount of people to be invited at the same time. Basically, to copy-paste a column of email addresses from a spread sheet into the plugin, and then the plugin generates an invitation code for each email address, and emails it to that address.

Cheers,

Matt

You have to allow only administrators to access the Invitation Manager.
Just set an empty value for "Who can use Invitation Management" in ACP and it should go.
Do not forget to select the Admins group for "Who can administer invitations 1".
Then you can create invitations in the Invitation Manager (link is in modcp menu for admins).

Thank, I'll see what I can do about that.

Thanks so much for your quick replies, will try it out.

Looking forward to your finished plugin as well, but better do it right than in a hurry.

Cheers,

Matt
