Invitation only private board
#31
cfillion, you must absolutely be kidding me! This is incredible work, I'm extremely grateful for you developing this great plugin. Do you have a paypal account? I would love to shout you at least a cup of coffee or something like that.

Short of time right now, so just quickly (more later):

1. I noticed that the "Who can administer invitations" 1 and 2 only show the first nine groups to select from in the drop down menu; I can not select from all groups. I would like to set a custom group that I created to be able to administer invitations, but can't due to that fact. Is that accidentally, or by design for some reason that I don't understand right now?

2.

Quote:Oops, I mean the "Usergroups that normal users can invite" setting.

Then that makes sense, yes!

3.

Quote:I'm not sure if I would display that information who invited whom in the profile, but yeah, maybe that would be an interesting option as well, because it would again delegate work load, because then anyone who comes across a rogue member can look up who invited them, and contact the inviting admin so they can personally talk to that rogue member. Hm, not bad.

If you have another idea than in profile, tell me.

I'm not sure. At least I think it would be good to make the display in the user profile optional, so the admin can switch that off or on depending on what they prefer.

Quote:v1.3 is a huge update.

Big Grin Yes indeed! Unbelievable, thank you so much!

Will be trying out your new version soon, and get back to you with more feedback. It's the least I can do.

Cheers,

Matt

When you create a new usergroup, you must re-activate my plugin to see it in "Who can administer invitations" options.

This is in 1.3. And you can switch off these two features independently.

Please continue in the official thread: http://community.mybb.com/thread-113141.html.
So we don't bother the "Requests" section. Wink

Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated!

Hi all Smile

I'm trying to make mybb board accessible by invitation only. I've installed this plugin but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do this. Is there a box to tick off that I'm just missing or code that needs added?

Regards

Mags

In the new version of my plugin, registrations require invitation code by default.
You can check in the settings (Admin CP > Configuration > Invitation System):

I tried to install this and received this message:

MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1146 - Table 'memberrc_mybb474.mybb_mybb_settinggroups' doesn't exist
Query:
INSERT INTO mybb_mybb_settinggroups (gid,name,title,description,disporder,isdefault) VALUES ('NULL','inviteonly','Invitation Only','Settings For The invitatation only Plugin','1','no')

Did you edit something in the plugin file (like adding "mybb_" or "TABLE_PREFIX")?
Redownload the plugin without any changes and retry.

It should work well.
