Moving hosts - got this weird error

I don't know what this error means. I'm moving hosting and I've done all the proper setting up.

Database imported
Files moved over to server
config.php set up to match new hosting parameters.

Using mybb 1.6.4 (haven't had time to upgrade yet)

MyBB has experienced an internal error and cannot continue.

MyBB Error (44)
Error Message:
MyBB was unable to load the SQL extension. Please contact the MyBB Group for support. MyBB Website

You may have been using MySQLi before and your hostonly supports MySQL.

ok so how do I fix that so it recognizes my database? Can i just change it in the config file?

All fixed. I changed the config file and it popped up nicely.
