I'm not sure who said Yii is GPL but it's not. Yii is BSD, that's why many commercial products use it:

All my plugins are available for free at MyBB Extend and on my GitHub. MyBB-Plugins.com has been closed and none of my plugins are officially maintained or supported.

I'm pretty sure vapor was saying "They Did" to paul's post about "If Yii goes paid (which it won't)..." and therefor saying that Yii is paid (which it isn't) if i understand what he was saying.

Back to topic,

I am really willing to try 2.0 Beta and check How good is MyBB running with framework (instead of Beauty) Smile

Just like Blackberry, Palm/WebOS and Apple. All programmer push-ed in to Java Framework "jail" coding. Never been found, optimizing programming anymore. Depends on Yii, such Microsoft depend on .NET framework Big Grin

I am Sure, resources cannot lie. Once MyBB 2.0 is out, may every shared-hosting will closed for MyBB as their Fantastico/softaculous/Installatron list :lol:
