Log In Box on Index page for Guests

How do I get the login box from the login page on the index above the news box?
I realise there is a login button on the top of the page alongside Register but I'd also like the box directly there for guests to use.
When they've logged in, they should just see the forum as normal with the login box gone.
Any help at all please?
