"Reset" - a dangerous button
#1
Some poeple, like to right alot -- sometimes they don't know what they are doing, and they click on "Reset", thinking they are clicking on "Post", or whatever. Extremely dangerous. I know I would HATE to have my data lost. Please remove this button in "Gold". Cool

Or maybe make a confirmation?

Ah yes, good idea. like a javascript pop-up saying;

"Warning! You are about to reset all fields! By doing this, you will lose ALL your data! Are you SURE?"

Okay - Cancel

I don't see the point in a reset button, especially for a single box like the fast reply because if you want to delete everything you've typed you can just select it all and delete it, saves accidentally resetting it.

Reset buttons are going to be phased out in MyBB, as you can pretty much reload the page, or as Michael said you can just delete the contents.

In the meantime, if you want to show a confirmation, find the reset button in the template and add:
onclick="return(confirm('Are you sure you want to reset the post? This will erase anything you have typed'));"
(Of course, you can replace the confirmation text with whatever you want Smile
Worked a treat for me Smile
