yup it is a little bit slow
it is not a problem with mybb
it is a problem with your hosting company
but you can always limit the images number in the homepage
to increase the speed

I'm using Godaddy.. nothing I can do other than switch huh?
I've been taking a lot of extra stuff in the mybb settings and I think it's helping...

Are you on a dedicated IP?
If you aren't then that could be a suspect.
A lot of images having to load could also be the problem. There isn't much you can do about that.
