Google has the answer - type in "phpmyadmin database backup" and "phpmyadmin database restore" in two separate searches and you should get full instructions.

Judel, this program is awesome. http://www.mysqldumper.de/de/index.php It takes all the guess work out of it. One click backs up, one click restores.

I only see the temporary patch and cannot see/find the upgrade package...

QuestionsLeadToGreatWisdom Wrote:I only see the temporary patch and cannot see/find the upgrade package... You'll have to get the latest files from the site

There is no changed files package included in this update for various reasons.
#85
then i don't get how to upgrade. download a clean copy and ftp the changed files?
#86
Yep
#87
Ok, Im quite confused.

Can I just upload all the changes files "Changed files since MyBB 1.2", then "Theme and template changes" and "Language packs changes" and I will be upgraded and don't have to run any script?
#88
Yes, However The upgrade script maybe optional to run, it is reccommded, and its only a small change between V 1.2 and 1.2.1. Only a few changes to make your forum run faster. (indexes for instance)
#89
So I can't grasp how this new upgrade system is meant to work..?

I'm currently running 1.2, had no trouble installing that but the way I'm reading it you want us to download the entire install package everytime we upgrade now? Isn't that a big waste of time? What happened to just adding the changed files?
#90
lol like 10 questions since I was typing this about the same thing...
