After looking into doing plugin updates a bit more we've found this to be quite a difficult task. This is mainly due to the fact that there is no enforced plugin directory structure on uploads to the mods site. If and when a directory structure is enforced then we will definitely consider doing this though.

Then do it just for this plugin Doing it for all plugins could not be possible since some of them may require unactivation/uninstallation/template removals/etc. You can't just know what each plugin requires to be updated.

Huh, weird. I'm trying to update via Plugin Uploader but either the plugin file version still says 1.0 or it thinks that the new version is the old version...

Just installed this and it is a great idea, however could it be made clearer if you are ether upgrading or reinstalling at first look it appears that you can only reinstall rather than upgrade
I guess that if you tick this box you reinstall the whole lot

it may be worth adding the word upgrade in here somewhere

(If you are not sure if the upgrade script needs to be run, please leave the checkbox checked) Some versions don't require running the upgrade script, however the majority do. Please uncheck the checkbox on the right to leave the lock file intact.
