[WIP] Moodle
#1
Hey everyone.

This is a new theme I have been working on the past couple of days. It's based off my University's student portal and the theme is called Moodle.

The aim of this theme is for it to be simple, and different. I aim to use as few images as possible, and also to keep solid colours instead of gradients.

Feedback and suggestions are greatly appreciated Smile

Thanks,

Ed

The forum indicators currently don't fit, yhough it seems rather WIP so if you're going to replace them then that's okay. You might consider having the forum title be a different color/weight when the forum has new posts instead if your goal is a reduction of the use of images.

Yeah I kept putting off doing the forum indicators, so much so that I overlooked them before posting a screenshot. I definitely intend to change them.

I like your idea of the different font colour depending on whether there is new content. Off the top of my head I have no idea how I would do that but I'm sure with a little research ill be good.

Not so much a fan of this theme. It could definitely use a different font and some text effects. The forumbit is also really bad imo.

Also, add this to your css Wink

* { margin: 0; }

Thanks for the feedback. Are there any specific aspects you dont like which I can change or is it just the feel of the theme in general?

Still messing with the forum bit and trying to come up with something original, will post any updates I make!

There aren't many elements I can't like. The forumbit is basically the entire theme.

I'm not a fan of the theme, it seems like you're trying to go outside of your comfort zone really bad and at the moment it's quite bland, it's simple I'll give you that but not unique.

How I do it:

<h3 class="forum {$lightbulb['folder']}">...</h3>

and in the css just make classes called .forum.on{}, .forum.off{}, and .forum.offlock{}. You might consider putting the class directly on the <a> though since you're considering changing it's color. You can also do the same with threads, though that explodes the number of classes by a ton.
