If these characters work here, do they work in your own/local MyBB forum too?

If yes, which database / version / charset are you using?

I imagine MySQL with utf-8.

That's the thing... MySQL's utf8 doesn't support them. With MySQL you have to switch to utf8mb4 for those.

It doesn't work on mybboard.de, so something's different here. Oh well.

Turns out it works with latin1 charset. Big Grin

Although special characters are case sensitive then.

latin1? My latin must be off because none of those look like latin characters Toungue.

Yup, because it can't determine those characters as being invalid. So it's UTF-8 stored in a database that expects latin1. Nice eh?
