I cant seem to find a mod that will limit forum post image sizes that will work with the latest version of mybb. anyone have any suggestions that i may have overlooked?

Do you mean keep a limited amount of images in a post?

Then you can change the setting in ACP>Configuration>Setting>Posting>Maximum Images per Post

Or if you want the images to fit in the forum layout you can try fit on page by geek
