[How To?] Prevent my view adding to view count?

Is there a way to prevent my viewing of a thread from adding to the thread's view count?

Sometimes I'll look into a thread multiple times for various reason but that inflates the view count which I think gives a skewed representation of the thread's popularity.

I finally got around to adding this code snippet.

Strange thing: After the change, the first time I go into a thread the view count is updated. Subsequent views are not counted. Just the first.

Strange, but I can live with this.
