Remove threads from active threads

Okay so you have the search options: View today's posts and view new posts.

I have a forum section that generates a lot of threads that are for archive purposes and are flooding these searches, anyway to remove a forum from these searches?

That worked perfect thanks, though I see have them being generated in the prostats plugin which gives the little statistical area at the bottom of the forum. Any idea how to remove it from the plugin or would I have to direct that question at the developer?
