Search Engine Keywords plugin is coded by Paul H. Before I joined this community, I always use to Google solutions and I've noticed Paul H is a good Support Techie, I doubt his plugins wouldn't work.

You could try the MetaTags Plugin but it would not display the keywords publicly. It still gets the job done.
