Recover deleted PMs for admin

Is there any way for the admins (or supermods if possible) to recover deleted MPs? This would be awesome. Also a way to check users MPs without setting as read would be useful (to fight trolls).

not sure of recovering the deleted PMs.
deleted PMs first appear in Trash folder and if deleted from there then get deleted from the database.
however reading members PMs through admin panel is possible by using a plugin (eg. - see also its reviews page)
