Welcome Block

So the thing is that I have been making a theme and everyone says that I need to change things so that they don't look like the default theme and I was thinking about changing the welcome block but the thing is I really don't know how to change it I have been looking around on how to but I haven't found a single one.

This is my current welcome block look



I want it to look something like this




So could someone like guide me on how to do that ?

I also have a few more questions on how to do things but they are a lot simpler I think I'll ask after this.

Well I had to change the whole style of it and had to add margins and also adjust the size so to style it. The only thing that I'm wondering how do I add user post count on there does anyone know ?
