Is there a way to add support for multiple spaces in names?

It already supports spaces in usernames, they have to be put in quotation marks though (@"example nick").

This is just a suggestion I have, but what about actually parsing out the usernames when the post is submitted instead of on the fly?  It would end up using less server resources, at the cost of possibly not correct color if a person changes usergroups from the time the post was written.

Yes, it sounds reasonable - it can be done by autocomplete function where you can select the user

I intend to implement this feature, but I will need some time (I'm also interested in integration with MyAlerts, but it's not stable for 1.8 yet).

I just tried typing this to a post with DVZ Mentions 0.4 activated.

(Check the attachment what I typed. Trying typing it here and messed up the formatting.)


After posting it, the showthread page went blank. Nothing. Just blank. When I deactivated the plugin, the page showed up again. Is there something wrong with what I posted?

The plugin requires PHP version 5.4 or newer; when it's uploaded to a server with an old version it either shows a Parse error or a blank page if PHP errors are suppressed. That's likely the issue, you should be able to change it though (web hosting panel, hosting FAQ/documentation, or try their support).
