1.8 New Points

What changes need to be done to the files to get New Points to work?

Not sure, however you are a lot better off waiting until 1.8 gets a stable, official release and then wait until the plugin author updates it. Shouldn't take too long.

I just installed Newpoints 1.9.9 on my beta 3 install, and it works with no issues for me. The only change that I made was in /inc/plugins/newpoints/core/plugin.php. Simply change the "compatibility" => "16*" line and adjust 16* to 17*. You'll need to adjust that to 18* once 1.8 is officially released, although I imagine Pirata Nervo will have an official release of Newpoints for 1.8 by that point.

I decided to run a new copy; merge the existing content. Nd use 1.6 until such time MyBB group release MyBB 1.8 and the plugins get updated by the plugin authors.
