I have no idea about what might be causing it but it looks like it's an issue between IE11 and the auto complete plugin. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong.
All my plugins are available for free at MyBB Extend and on my GitHub. MyBB-Plugins.com has been closed and none of my plugins are officially maintained or supported.

Ok, i wiped everything out and reinstalled from scratch to make sure, and now its working ok.
Perhaps too many patches overtime made it dirty in some way. Anyway, it seems to work ok now, at least for me.

I'm not sure anything is wrong with your code at this point, I've been playing with on and off as time permits.

What I've found is:

  1. If I enter a wrong answer to security question first, so I get a validation error, and then enter the correct answer it works.
  2. Or wait several seconds after completing the registration forum before clicking submit and it works fine.
  3. Or lastly set the "Minimum Registration Time" setting to 0 and IE11 works fine every time.
Either I just complete the form to fast or it's an IE11 glitch... I can't reproduce the behavior in any other browser, so I don't it's question of me filling out the registration form too quickly.

So it seems to work fine now? I personally haven't tried it as I don't have IE11 to test with, I just went through the code and the web to search for possible causes (didn't find any).
