if you are using 1.8's default theme then new thread image is in forumdisplay_newthread template

1. Please create a new thread for another issue and mark this as solved if the initial question was answered.
2. You need a plugin for that. For instance ProStats: http://community.mybb.com/mods.php?action=view&pid=59 or if you want only threads then there are other modifications for 1.6.x (need to change compatibility line to match 1.8.x).
