Not Solved Theme Help 1.8

I was feeling really confident about this.... I worked on the new format to go with 1.8... I got it looking great.... Then I moved it all from the test site I am running to my actual site and everything went to crap. Sad

This first picture is how I set it up on the test site... It's how it's supposed to look....

I shut down my site... Like I'm supposed to.... I turned off my plug ins.... Like I'm supposed to.... Then I updated my site to 1.8.0.... Following the same format I'd used to update my site originally from 1.6.12 to 1.6.14.... As I did with the subdomain I'm also running, and the format I used to update the test site from 1.6.12 to 1.8.0... Then... Once that was completely updated.... I imported the theme I created on the test site... Onto my actual site... But I didn't get the same lay out... Instead I got this....

[Image: cb1e003e-80c1-467f-b9ae-720831b4fbeb_zps...1409988078]

I used the same exact lay out for both of them.... Yet on the test site it works... And on the actual site it doesn't work at all. Sad

So for the time being I'm back to the original format.... But it doesn't work with 1.8.0 either.... It lists all the subforums up and down instead of side by side.... And I don't want that...

For the time being I'm going to open the site back up but I'm sorry to tell the mybb staff this, as I did read how long you've been working on this, but from what I've seen of 1.8.0 so far.... It's a bust.

EDIT: And I can't go back to the original design I spent a month working on because it looks like crap.... Is there a way to go back to 1.6.14.... One that actually works? Sad - Sorry if this seems rude but right now I'm looking at 3 1/2 months of work completely ruined in a matter of ten minutes because I updated. </3

Here's another fun one....

Test site = Buttons...

vs

Actual site = No buttons...

Why do we ever bother to learn anything? Nothing ever seems to work the same way twice anyway....  Huh

Did you try to revert your stylesheets and templates?
Roses are red
violets are blue
sunflowers are yellow
i bet you were expecting something romantic but no
these are just gardening facts

Yeah.....

The defaults are set up the same way, with the same missing pieces.... Which tells me that I updated it incorrectly, except this is the third time I upgraded to 1.8.0 and it worked fine the first two times.

Yeah. I made a back up, but it wouldn't let me go back to it. When I put it in, it told me that I wasn't updated, when I did the /install thing it only gave me the option for 1.8.0....

EDIT: One thing I can always count on, is the internet making a liar out of me.... It.... half way put me back to 1.6.14.... Just like it only half way gave me 1.8.0.... This time I think it's because I have guests on my CLOSED site... I thought closing it was supposed to prevent people from showing up because they would cause interruption to the process? Now I know why coders say that this stuff is hard... It's not that it's hard...  Sad

Also got this at the bottom of my page now...

Ok, that's two hours I've spent now trying to get 1.6.14 back from my back up and it's only coming in half a**ed.... Why?

This issue has all been resolved.

all old styles are not compatible with mybb 1.8 if you want to use your old stylu you must repair many templates, but how repair ?
Make a new one style with new templates based on mybb 1.8 and look for changes.
Or try to use new MyBB styles compatible with MyBB 1.8

That's what I'm using Glover, that's what those images are from... The original 1.8.0 base theme.... And I can't get it to work... I've been working at it all day and I'm still having the same issues of missing buttons and a crap happy header. ;(
