Thanks for the reply..

So, I haven't done anything to MyBB except install it..no plug-ins or nothing..

When I installed 1.8 every step passed to the next smoothly until I got the Your Install was Successful message and the request to lock my Install folder..which I did.

No input was really needed by me..

I did run the File Verification tool and attached the results..apparently a lot of things have "Changed" listed and Contact.php shows "Missing"(at very bottom of attachment)

Could this be the issue and how might I rectify it?

And if so, what did I do wrong to cause this(don't like to make the same mistakes over and over)

Thanks for everyone's help

Apparently you uplaoded onlythe install directory, when you need to upload all the files in the "Uplaod" directory. So those modified files are updated as well.

Hey Omar, so I've done the upgrade process now a couple of times and I assure you I uploaded all the directories(admin, archive, cache, images, inc, install, jscripts & uploads).

I dragged each of these files to my "forums" folder in public_html. My domain is forums.bytheblock.com

I've attached a screenshot of what my file tree looks like..

Additionally, all the steps of the upgrade process proceeded accordingly(at least according to the upload guide).

However, I'm still left with the same results and item missing from my most recent attachment(File Verification Results).

I'd imagine that there should be no results for the verification test in the ACP..no?

Thanks so much for helping me on this..

Jonathan

Upload the showthread.php, index.php, portalphp, etc. files to your forum root directory (public_html/forums from the looks of it).

Since the verification tool is only marking those as changed I assume those to be the ones you missed.

Update 9/14 10:46AM EST:

So, although it initially appeared that my setup was fine, despite the disconcerting Verification Results listed in my prior post, I now notice that User Search isn't working in Forum Management..a la the attachment.

Would welcome some input on why my Verification Results are so and this latest issue with User Search.

Perhaps they're related?

Thanks so much..

Jonathan

Update 9/13: So, although I get the above stated Verification results, after exploring the site, I don't seem to see any issues like the error message that started this thread.

Anyway, I'll update my findings..

Thanks,

j

Whoa, I was so concerned with transferring all the folders from the Upload folder that I must of missed the files residing in the actual Upload folder itself..like showthread.php and all the others in the list.

hmm, learn something new every day.

That being said, I now see them all in my public_html/forums folder but when I run the Verification test, they're all still listed as "Changed"..

Is there something I still need to do? Should there be no results showing when that test is run?

Are these .php files supposed to go in one of the other folders?

Thanks so much for your patience.

J.
