Hi! I've been looking to set up a MyBB forum for my gaming servers for a while.
I started creating it over the weekend, and just recently (around the time when I started using a custom theme) whenever people attempt to register it thinks they are spamming: http://prntscr.com/4n7w16

I'm using MyBB 1.8.

Revert the member_register template used by theme.

How would i go about doing that? (Sorry may be a stupid question)

Admin CP -> Templates & Style -> Templates -> [template set used by your theme] -> Member Templates -> find member_register and in Options next to it choose Revert to Original

Did you upload all 1.8 files? If yes, try ACP -> Configuration -> General Configuration -> Disable All Plugins? -> set to Yes and Save. Then try clicking the Options button again.

Disable the very first option in :

ACP -> Configurations Tab -> Stopforumspam Settings.

You'll be good to go
