I have a question, I just installed my forum on the 13th of December 2015. Should I check into this. or should i be ok?

using 1.8.6 version btw. I am wanting to know so I know to make sure my site is not at risk.

The vulnerability was fixed in MyBB 1.8.3 (and 1.6.16) - if you installed 1.8.6, the problem doesn't concern your forum at all.
