Accidently deleted some members

I was deleting some spam registrations and when I went back to the forums I see I got a few real users who had posts. On their posts and replies it has their usernames but it says they are unregistered. So I recreated the usernames in the admin area but it still says they are unregistered. I am guessing it does not associate the posts with the new similar usernames. Is there a way to reconnect the users with the posts? Most of them are replies to posts. There is only around 10 or so posts and replies with this problem so I am willing to do it manually if it is possible.
