My forum thinks everyone is a spammer

I've got a definite problem with my anti-spam or my forum?  No one can register??

Just upgraded two weeks ago to MyBB 1.8.3 and implemented Stop Forum Spam. 

No one can register.  Even my alternate email is considered spam.  I've turned all the Stop Forum Spam indices to 'no' and have Askimet.

Any suggestions?

this happened to me and it was something with the theme. I know it might not make sense but once I switched themes it started working again..

also that looks like a 1.6 default theme?

You can't use 1.6 themes in 1.8, more problems may be experienced. Either recreate the default 1.8 theme: http://community.mybb.com/thread-158870-...pid1100165 or download a 1.8 compatible theme from here: http://community.mybb.com/mods.php?actio...ory=themes

Thank you!!! Problem solved. I did not know about the version templates. Stands to reason it would begin to muck things up.

Thanks for your answer!  I had no idea that a previous version theme would mess things up!  Now I do.  Worked and is solved.

My problem is now this.. I was getting the "hey you're a spammer" notice on registration once we upgraded to I think it was 1.6.x Sept 1st. I tried everything to stop it to no avail.   We upgraded to 1.8.8 the other day and it is still an issue.

I turned off captcha, made the default theme DEFAULT (as opposed to Apart Sun) Still no luck registering
Display a hidden CAPTCHA  is NO

I was using Apart Sun theme, which I cant even find in a search now. Today I tried a different theme.. W3-Responsive, when I registered I got a bunch of code like when you open a PDF in the wrong application ---- BUT I did get registered and the email conf came..



when I installed the theme XML file, I had to do it a second time and check off the IGNORE version box

Once I set the new user as active, I had no trouble getting in and navigating around.. 

Next I tried the theme.. FOCUS
had to do the same ignore version checkbox - even though it is a "recommended" theme for 1.8.8

again, once I activated the user, I was able to navigate with no other issues

I have also tried setting the theme to default - same you're a spammer message..
I tried disabling ALL plug-ins - still got the spammer message.. any thoughts here???
