Location

In 1.8.4

Is it possible to add a user's location in the bit where it says posts, threads, joined, reputation?

If so - how do I do it?

Hi. Go to Acp >> Configuration >> Custom profile fields (link at left side) and choose what you want.
Options >> Edit filed or Add new.
By default you should have Location filed and it should be shown in profile if user full it, but it's not requied.
