Noticed now, we have to check manually for this? Ok, well then my suggestion is to make it automatic check each time we sign into ACP. I guess it's just a simple curl

It's automatically checked everyday.

That would slow down the loading of the page every time. At the minute, the latest news is fetched from the blog every 24 hours (I believe - it may be less frequent) via the task system.

as a compromise, I think mybb should push people to register for their blog updates.

I've been a member of this forum for 8 years and finally signed up for the blog updates a few days ago...

Do this for any software you run on your site. Subscribe to their blog and any announcement mailing lists they have.

I subscribe to Ubuntu-security, MyBB, WordPress, and PHP, for example.

Hi,

Your MyBB 2.0 suggestion has unfortunately been rejected. Your suggestion does not fit with the direction that MyBB is heading in as a project at this time.
