View new posts is not functional, help please!

My new board approaching opening day and I still can't "view new posts" from the top toolbar.

I get this message:
Sorry, but no results were returned using the query information you provided. Please redefine your search terms and try again.

View today's posts works fine and displays todays posts.

it is not an error. there are no new posts for you on your forum.
if there are some new posts made by other users then you can see those new posts through that link

How can I change a setting so when a user "views new posts" all new posts from all users appear, including that (me) user?

Click "View today's posts". When you want another (longer) period, this can be achieved by a small change in search.php.
