You'll be able to move posts to an existing thread or to a brand new thread. Does that answer your question? Unsure what you mean by splitting the thread.

in mybb 1.X, you can't move a post from 1 thread to another. what you have to do is split the post from its original thread, then merge the new thread it'll create with the thread you want to move the post to. this is very burdensome and inefficient.

I see, well whether it works that way in 1.x or not, it won't work like that in 2.0. You'll pick some threads to move and then either move them to an existing thread or create a new thread for them.

How is the report center going to work? Is it all going to be on one page, or is it still going to be like the previous versions that really make the moderation process longer on bigger forums?

It hasn't been implemented (or even designed) yet so we don't have an answer to this yet. That said, how does the current report center make the moderation process difficult for larger forums?
