This user has been denied support.

How do I make it so when users get stars for how many posts they have and if they join a usergroup they keep the same and can still get more for certain postcount milestones

You can use Group Promotion or User Titles.

one option is to setup as below:

ACP >> Users & Groups >> User Titles --- define the stars based on post count as you like, add more titles if required

ACP >> Users & Groups >> Groups --- leave the "Default User Title" blank so that its taken from whats defined in above step...

PS: its a good idea to disable the custom usertitle from ACP >> Users & Groups >> Groups >> select a Group >> Users and Permissions tab, so that they wont conflict with the above setup...
