User name problem

I tried to create an account in my forum. When I select a user name, its showing existing user name. I tried to use many types of user name, which user name do not create. can you log into forum admin panel ? if so can you run file verification tool available at tools& maintenance section
you can ignore reported files from install folder & its sub-folders. also ignore the images. let us know the result.
