Does anyone happen to have a copy of this or something? I really like the direction this has taken and would love to 'fork' this and see what I can add/change

This was never released as a publicly available theme and never will be. The intent of this thread was to get people thinking about ways they could customize their own forums to provide a better user experience. However, I would say a lot of the ideas shared here are extremely outdated at this point.

I'm currently building a new responsive design based on Respond. I'll share more about it when I can. Smile

IMO, building a non-responsive theme in 2016 is a waste of time.

I would indeed be looking at a responsive theme, I just very much like some aspects made here. I will however say that this has indeed got me thinking.

I thank you for your response and look forward to your future project(s)!

If my dev work was of releasable quality, I might consider it. But I'm basically the development equivalent of a 13-year-old playing with his dad's bass guitar in his garage.

Why is that?

Why is that?

A lot of people use their phones to navigate websites nowadays, that's why.

For me, develop a responsive theme with the current version of MyBB is a waste of time, due to several reasons.

Doesn't response design restrict you from modifying heavily?

For non-response themes there are mobile plugins and there is tapatalk.

There are oh so many forums out there that are not responsive. I don't think it restricts people from using that forum either way. I don't think it's a wast of time.. Atleast not for everyone.

Not really.

For me (my own opinion) the best way to make something responsive is using HTML5 and media queries. If you want to use media queries and HTML5 in the current version of MyBB, you need to replace all the tables with divs or the correct tag, making all the plugins useless (I mean, you can still use a plugin but you need to re-do all the HTML structure of it).

Also, the amount of work is insane.

Like I said before, a lot of people use their phones to browse the internet, I'm not the case.

Of course, you have apps like tapatalk, but the process of this apps in order to install it and make it work is annoing.

I repeat, I'm not saying is useless, but FOR ME is not worth it.

Check out the link to Respond I posted. Mobile-ready out of the box and easy to customize. There are also a few other responsive themes you can download and use as a starting point.

There's no point investing time in developing a site that's a pain to use for the most ubiquitous computing devices on the planet.

There are tons of forums out there that aren't responsive, sure. Forums are also decreasing in relevance overall. Why not take steps to make forums more accessible for demographics that might not have ever heard of them before?

For myself, I check my own site on my phone a lot. Having a non-responsive theme is killing me. That's why I am making one now.
