Changing Forum Homepage

Hi,
This may get a bit complicated to understand so I will try and explain what I want to do as clear as I can.
First off, this is my forum: antiscape.tk/forums

I want to make the portal the homepage of my forums index.php and make the forums page a seperate page which you click on the menu to get to.
I don't want to just redirect to the portal I want to make it the actual homepage. Then have A button for forums in the menu.
So if possible make portal.php index.php and make the forums forums.php or something.

Also, can someone help me with this. I've fixed this same problem on a Wordpress site before but can't remember how to do it on mybb.

if you want to make portal.php as your homepage, add this code to .htaccess

DirectoryIndex portal.php

but if custom page as home page
index.html as home page maybe code like this

DirectoryIndex index.html

You can also make it like this
antiscape.tk/theforum
antiscape.tk/isjustdirectorynamenotshowingindexphp
You have
antiscape.tk/forums so just change the dir and anything linking like config.php (not sure and no time to check)

Hey guys Update. I Just renamed portal.php to index.php and renamed index.php to portal.php it works perfectly. Thanks

Um. Except One Problem.
If you look at the blue bar that has the page names. When im on the homepage which I made the portal. I renamed it to index.php and it works fine but The blue bar still says its the portal and that the current portal.php is the homepage. Can someone help with this thanks.

Also, the menu. Whenever im on the new homepage which is the portal it doesnt highlight the home button. When im on the forums which I renamed portal It highlights home.

freedom.community.tm is actually how I want it to be set out. They also have the navigation bar showing how I want mine to be. If you could help me get my pages set out like that it would be awesome. Note: for their homepage which is their portal it's not just redirected its actually their homepage/index.

I think I stuffed the forums. Luckily I made a backup. Then I just have to figure out how to change it so it's like freedom.community.tm

You shouldn't edit vital files without first checking. You should have never rename index.
Alternatively you could've sent portal to index, or remove portal completely. Index is the main page, like index.html would be.
As for your navbar, you can change portal to be Click here and redirects you too google if you wanted. Its just a link back from hypertext. Comon dude.... 101 of web design

Guess I'm too used to websites & CMS not forum software. I read that with XenForo you can easily change your homepage to the portal from the admin panel. This wouldn't happen to be possible in mybb would it?
I'm going to restore back to the backup then I will try again. I will try and find the website but it said you could just rename them, or I just want reading carefully.
Do any of you have Skype where we can chat?

Sure, Let me reinstall skype and Ill PM you. I don't have my PC with you but it is simple to change portal. Just don't go messing with index.
