added the sprite smilie plugin

Hi just added the sprite smilie plugin from the downloads area and once i activated it it gave an error about my smilies, so uninstalled it and cannot view my smilies once i have posted, they show up in the message but not preview or the replied message.

please can you help

You need to chmod your smilies directory to 777.

working with a mac so I changed the everyone to read and write or what do i need to do, tried to do as stated but still cannot see smilies in post or preview

backed up sql before i changed anything, just dropped schema and loaded the file.sql into the schema database and fixed my issues
