moving mybb to new host

Hello again

Well, I thought we were cool, but it seems that there is a problem now with the log in function. Back when the links were still directing to my old host I had the problem when I clicked on "log in" it took me to mybb on my old servers login page, and after I tried to log in it would bring me back to the new server still showing as only a guest. At that time, I tried the quick login at the bottom of the index page and it worked. Then when I fixed the forum links as per destroyers advice, and the links worked properly I assumed the problem was fixed. Of course, I was already logged in then, and when I returned to the forum it automatically stayed that way.

However, one of my other users just emailed me complaining of the same problem happening to him (even though it is no longer redirecting to the old server). So I tossed my cookies () and went to try and log back in myself, and now BOTH the login at the top of the page AND the quick login are not working. They just return you back to the index with guest status, even though it says "you have been logged in successfully" on the interim page. Any advice on fixing this one? At present, no one can log in at all. Help appreciated...

Well, I have tried to set the cookie settings right, but still no work. Strange thing is, when I click on "Login" on the index page, the login page where it takes me shows me as already logged in, it says "Welcome Kenny" etc.. But when I get back to the forum it shows me as a guest again. My forum is at www.iwfi.org/myBB/ so if I understand correctly the cookie domain should be .iwfi.org and the cookie path should be /myBB/ right? It also says that the cookie domain can be left blank, so I tried that but no work. I also tried going back to the default cookie path which was just / but no good either. Any other suggestions?

OK, this is really getting weird. Now it only is showing me as a guest on the index page. When I navigate to forums or threads, it shows me as logged in.

Well, this problem is persisting. I can navigate to any page in my forums and it shows me as being logged in, but as soon as I navigate back to the index page it shows me as a guest and offers me the login option. Can anyone help me fix this?

If it is any help to know this, my other users are reporting the same problem. They are showing as a guest on the index page, while showing as being logged in on all other pages. Any assistance appreciated. Thanks, Kenny

Can you reupload index.php? Also, What plugins do you have installed?

I reuploaded index.php and that solved the problem. One of my team members had edited the index page to add a flash banner and some graphics and apparently that somehow caused the problem. Thanks for your help tikitiki.
