disable invisible members 1.8

I saw on this thread https://community.mybb.com/thread-77631.html that you need to delete a code to get rid of the inivisible members feature.

But since this was for 1.6 is it different for 1.8?

if so how would I disable invisible members?

viewing online status of invisible users is a group based privilege.
in general, moderators & administrators are set with that privilege.

anyway, the codes are same in MyBB 1.8.x
