I recently migrated my files to another host.  The wordpress portion of my site works fine.  However, I cannot get my forum to work.  I migrated the database using FTP.  I configured the database at new host and all I am getting is a generic myBB forum configuration.  My previous database is not connecting.

Website: dentalimplant411.com/dental-chat-room
mybb version 1.6.10

Thanks.

can you please tell us how you migrated the database & how it is configured ..

basically database backup needs to be taken from forum admin panel
or from database manager [eg. phpMyAdmin] at the web host control panel.

And backup of database needs to be imported to new server through database manager [eg. phpMyAdmin]

connection of the database is configured through config.php file
it is located at inc folder of your MyBB forum files server

see config.php file related guidance here

Note: php files should be saved with utf-8 encoding without Byte Order Mark.
in general, we use editor like Notepad++ or file editor at web host panel

I backed up the database and used the backed up file to migrate.
Imported through phpMy Admin.

Configured the database as stated above.

$config['database']['type'] = 'mysqli';
$config['database']['database'] = 'dentamg9_implantforum';
$config['database']['table_prefix'] = 'mybb_';

$config['database']['hostname'] = 'localhost';
$config['database']['username'] = 'dentamg9_dent';

Thanks.

One more thing:
I am not getting a database error (connection issue).  I am just not getting any content from my migrated database to show up.

Thanks.

Database name was too long.

I migrated my forum to another server.  I encountered a problem with what I think are new posts:

--------------------------------
Warning [2] preg_replace(): The /e modifier is no longer supported, use preg_replace_callback instead - Line: 642 - File: inc/class_parser.php PHP 7.0.24 (Linux)

Does anyone know what this issue may be?

I think it only shows up in posts after migration was completed.

If I update to the latest version would it take care of this problem?

glad that you have got it fixed Smile

looks like your forum is upgraded to MyBB 1.8.x; it would be better to use a new theme for it.
MyBB 1.8.x themes available here. see also this theme installation guidance if required.
