1.10 Activate Users from Mod CP
#1
Yeah, me again with a suggestion that happens to be a plugin of mine. Toungue

Add the ability to activate user accounts from the Mod CP.

I have to agree here. It's a quick/convenient thing to just be able to do it from the ModCP. Though I can't remember offhand if there are permissions for this mod or not. (So say Admins can set which groups can approve from Mod CP.)
If there aren't any permissions for it then I think that'd be a good addition.

Yeah, would be a great addition, with a permission to allow super moderators or normal moderators.

This would be a nice addition to forums. But you should be able to restrict which mods can use that option

To be honest, I think the ACP and the MCP should become one, there's a lot of duplicated functionality between the two. That said, super mods should be able to activate users.

Amen, Azah! Combine ACP and MCP and use permissions to dictate which settings and reports are available.

I believe it would be convenient to allow certain user groups to activate users.

I agree that this plugin should be added into the core.

this plugin does not work. At this rate, the mybb system will dig its own grave.

You really shouldn't be surprised when old plugins don't work.  Not only has mybb changed since this plugin was last updated - but php versions as well.  Possibly database software - but haven't tried with this one.  You can argue it shouldn't be in the extend section, but I think that's more of a resource issue.  And a conversation for another day.

Good rule of thumb - always be aware of when a plugin was last updated, and moderate your expectations accordingly.  Might be more trouble than it's worth.  Oh yeah - good idea to have a test environment to experiment and the means of quick rollback and recovery.

In this case, you can create a new group and grant them customized access to the ACP to activate users.  Even keep the appearance of their current user title.  All within the core system.  I've done exactly that when the necessity arose.

If you need a more guided experience - I'd bite the bullet and go with a paid solution.  Open source is not for everyone. Wink

What doesn't work? I just tested it, and except for some PHP warnings being thrown in PHP 8.0, it seems to work fine.
