setting up a forum

A few friends and i have setup a MyBB forum, but as we are completely new to this we have no idea what we need to do now, we are trying to upload files to the forum so we can have a programme that checks stuff from the file, can anyone help us on how to upload and install all this (i already have the files AND i have filezilla.)
