I have my forum working on a domain properly  www.mydomain.com/forum and mydomain.com/forum.  Great..no problem.

Now I have a new domain and I have moved everything from the old site to mynewdomainname.com.

I used the same dbase and went into settings and changed the homeurl and mybb url to http://mynewdomainname.com

The result that I am getting now is a forum that works with www but nothing without the www.

Also, I have a ssl cert and when I type www.mynewdomainname.com it takes me to https://mynewdomainname.com and gives me Insecure Connection page.

If I type https://www.mynewdomainname.com everything is fine

Im really in a quandry here.  I dont have any problems with my server.  Is there a cache that needs clearing?

Well, I have to ask you this question first...

Do you have your ACP configuration setup like you see in my screenshot below?

Look at the cookie part, too. (shown at the very bottom of the screenshot)

I can type in my URL with or without the 'www' in it and it still goes to my website.

Aha, yes, the old DNS resolve.

With moving to new domains, it does take a bit of time depending how good the hosting company is.

Mine took almost 24 hours when I switched to a new domain back in January.

Okay DNS was the culprit.  All is good.

Well.....still have a minor hiccup. Links on top of the page still show the old URL. Database has no references to the old url. Cookies? cache? How do I change the old links on the top of the page i.e. portal, member list, search, login etc

Never mind I found it in /inc/settings.pho

Ok new problem. /admin lets me login with my username and pass. The normal admin screen appears and reveals all of the options. But when I click on any of the options (for example /admin/index.php?module=config I am take back to the login screen. At that point I type in user and pass and get a page regeneration for login. Weird I can get into admin but nothing beyond that.

Nevermind....it was a typo in the cookie domain
