[Mail] reply per email

1) We would like to move our little community from a yahoo group (mailing list) to a forum software that enable to be notified per email AND to reply per email - as with a mailinglist.

Is myBB able to do this?

2) I read that there is archiving feature. Is that so?

1) could you clarify what you're trying to do? MyBB has a feature where you can be notified by email whenever someone replies to a post.

2) yes, MyBB has an archive (lite) mode that will make your board more visible to search engines.

I just received the notification of your answer per email, but I don't see a a reply link and I don't know what would happen if I click "reply" - meaning reply per email directly ...

If you hit that 'reply' link in the email it'll just open up your browser and take you to this thread. You can't actually respond using your email to create a response on a MyBB forum.

Actually, there is no reply link, just a link that goes to the thread, where you can then reply, as you said.
