Solved: 6 Years, 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi Everyone,

I transitioned to MyBB from Invision a few months ago and absolutely love it.  I upgraded from 1.8.15 to 1.8.16 earlier this month and lost avatars and user stars in the thread view.  The 1.8.17 fixed the stars issue, but the avatar is still not displaying in the thread view:

The funny thing is that the empty box still links to the user profile and if you right click and display the image in a new tab, it shows up fine.  I've been searching for a few weeks now but can't seem to find this particular issue.  I'm pretty sure it's the showthread template, but have no idea what's missing.

Thank you in advance for any help.

go to Home » Themes » Theme name » Editing global.css

search for .post .post_author div.author_avatar img (line 1136}

change this
.post .post_author div.author_avatar img {
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #ddd;
    background: #fff;
}
to this
.post .post_author div.author_avatar img {
    padding: 5px;
    border: 1px solid #ddd;
    background: #fff;

I also tried this, but my avatar is still now showing up.
Anyone know how to fix it?

Ah never mind. writing permissions should be set to 777
