If the vote holds as of this post, the feature will stay but with a 'Toggle' option.

That works for me.

Our forum uses the icons alot, as fast eyecatcher what kind of thread it is.

It also helps the overview in prostats.

This Poll its for Software MyBB 1.8.x Must be keep maybe can add option to turn off the post icons.

Or much better add the option font-awesome and update the Smiles for default software 1.8.x

Featuring in 1.8.x like Start Rating, Post Icons, Smiles Must be keep in software, many of these are deprecated or removed in 1.9... so why remove them in this version 1.8?
Better update with Fot Awesone and the smiles too.
