Garbled characters on main forum

I used merge to convert a VB3 to MyBB  database...

The admin section works fine, but visiting the forum shows:

Any ideas what that could be caused from?

looks like that is a problem with the gzip compression !

It was a gzip issue... thanks! Now just trying to get merge to actually import the data where it actually works lol.
