Not Solved [How To?] Resize the avatar in the user post
#1
Not Solved
Hello mybb users and admins

I've noticed that no matter how I set the users avatar size to show in posts, threads, profile, the avatar size doesn't seem to follow my guidelines. For instance, I've set it to 120x120, but I've noticed that it is resized to something else. This happens with the default theme. Is this something that needs to be addressed in .css or the templates?

use developer tools in chrome, and you will figure this out, of course avatar also has a class that defines it's size, you can use chrome tools to figure this out.
Hey man, what's up?

Hi,

sorry but I have to ask it: do you change the Default Avatar Dimensions?

Admin Control Panel > Configuration (tab) > Profile Options > Default Avatar Dimensions

If you alredy have, try to figure out what css is the problem like Michael2014 said.

You could check the postbit_avatar template in Post Bit Templates, it must be for default theme:
<div class="author_avatar"><a href="{$post['profilelink_plain']}"><img src="{$useravatar['image']}" alt="" {$useravatar['width_height']} /></a></div>

And of course check if an avatar's plugin is active and is the problem.
I don't answer questions about localhost forums or forums without URL, I'm not a seer.  Cool

I'm not an advanced user, so I cannot figure this out via the browser.

Yes, I did go thru the settings. You mentioned the Profile avatar. I also modified the show thread avatar but the same issue.

Well.., it'll be easier for us if you give us the URL of your forum and we could have a look...

Hi.

I've noticed, that it doesn't go beyond 100x100

I can resize back to 55x55, but say I set it to 200x200, it won't go to that point.

The maximum dimensions for avatars when being displayed in a post . If an avatar is too large, it will automatically be scaled Down.

Default size 55x55

Your avatar is 100x100. Unless you changed it later.
